The brief
Real Nation runs the Someone Like Me Art Awards every year for the National Disability Authority. Primary schools across the country are invited to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December with art that gets pupils thinking about diversity and disability.
The programme and its website needed a complete rebrand to freshen up the awards. The website acts as a learning hub, providing teachers with downloadable teaching resources, encouraging pupils across Ireland to learn about and celebrate diversity and disability awareness.
Accessibility was a key consideration at every step of the journey - from design through to build and a rigorous testing process. The Authority advises other organisations on it, so its own campaign site had to meet the standard.
What we built
Real Nation created a striking new brand identity and website designs for the programme. We took those designs through to a bilingual build in English and Irish, with the Irish text reviewed. Every page was tested against WCAG 2.1 AA, and the issues found were fixed before launch.
Application and file handling
We built the site on a CMS the admin team can manage themselves. Schools enter through an online application form, and each entry includes the class’s artwork. Every application is collated automatically into one central document, and the attachments are saved into one area the team can access.
