Seven professors, one shoot day.
Boston Scientific brought seven electrophysiologists from across Europe to the Mater Private in Dublin for one day. We filmed all of it, then spent the next few months editing it into an eight-part series.

01 · The day
Filmed in a day.
The professors work to incredibly full schedules and had flown into Dublin for just one day, so everything had to be filmed at the Mater Private then. Interviews ran back to back and the panel was recorded around one table. Gabor Széplaki, our host there, scrubbed in for a live case with a few of the visiting professors watching from the side of the lab.
There were five of us on the crew, with lead aprons for the lab.
02 · The brief
Let the doctors explain it.
The idea was to have the physicians who use the mapping software every week explain how they work. Each of the seven runs a training academy at their own hospital, in seven different countries, and each does things a little differently.
Two teams at Boston Scientific had a stake in it. Medical education wanted a film per centre, so a visiting doctor could see which academy suits them. Marketing had a 2026 campaign with a new look and needed the series to fit inside it. That meant two sets of notes on every cut.

03 · The edit
Accurate at every stage.
We worked on this with the Boston Scientific team from the first planning conversations through to the final cut. The subject is technical, covering electrophysiology, pulsed field ablation and mapping software.
Together we went through the transcripts and gave each professor their own angle, so the seven interviews wouldn’t become the same film seven times. One on research and how the technology got to where it is. One on imaging and anatomy. One on teaching doctors from a different background. One on safety. And so on.
The edit itself was involved and went step by step, between our editor, Alan, and the Boston Scientific team. Each episode started as a paper edit from the transcripts, then moved through rough cut and fine cut to picture lock, with the Boston Scientific team reviewing at every stage.
With this subject, accuracy came first. Every procedural description, anatomical term and on-screen reference to the mapping software had to be correct before an episode moved on to the next stage.

04 · Graphics
Motion graphics for the series.
Boston Scientific supplied the brand assets for the new campaign. We built them into a motion graphics package for the series: animated title cards and lower thirds, with the same easing, timing and placement in every film so all eight read as one series. Graphics appear only where they support what the speaker is saying, so the interview stays the focus.
